Prioritizing “Good Good Lovin”
Today we're continuing our theme of "Good Good Lovin'," also known as Sacred Love. We'll be talking about the importance of prioritizing our "Good Good Lovin'."
Life is beautiful, but it can be hectic.
And when it does, we forget to engage in the life-affirming, heart-centered activities and practices that keep up afloat.
This usually leads to a downward spiral of stress, overworking, frustration, and overwhelm.
Creating and maintaining sustainable self-love or spiritual practices is vital.
"Love is the great miracle cure. Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives."
Louise Hay
Here are a few tips that will support you in putting Sacred Love higher on your "to-do" list.
1. Prioritize self-love practices.
Choose activities that light you up and feed your soul and do them often. What are the activities that renew and refresh your spirit? Do they make you lose track of time? Do they inspire a child-like wonder and excitement? If you answered yes to any of those questions, I highly encourage you to make it more of a priority.
If you aren't sure, take time to try out new activities and develop new interests. Pay attention to how you feel as you engage in new activities. Allow your heart to guide you and lead the way.
2. Schedule it.
If you're anything like me, you probably wear many hats and have a lot going on in your life. If I want to get something done, it needs to be on my schedule or "do-to" list.
For the past month, I have scheduled weekly breathwork sessions on Tuesdays.
It's just God, me, music, and my breath for 60 minutes.
Ahhh...heaven!
My breathwork sessions have become my North Star. They have been fantastic, wonder-filled, awe-inspiring, insightful, and healing. They keep me grounded on my steep learning curve of course creation and launch planning.
Get out your calendar or phone now, and schedule in the most exciting, joyful, or peaceful self-love or spiritual practice you can think of.
Then do it consistently.
You'll be glad you did!
3. Make a note of internal shifts that occur when you commit to your practice.
As you commit to consistent self-love or spiritual practices, you will start to shift. You may feel more present, aware, open, or calm. This is where a good journaling practice will come in handy. Pay attention to the subtle and not-so-subtle changes you experience as you commit to consistently tending to your spirit. It can provide the proof you need to recognize your growth and the motivation to keep your practices going.
Commit to yourself today.
You're worth it!
