New Beginnings

“You are a mighty Phoenix rising from the ashes of what once appeared to be defeat.”

-Danielle Hatchell

Starting over can be challenging. The chapter in our lives preceding our new start often determines how we feel and cope with our new beginning. Living through our current pandemic has created many opportunities to begin again. We've changed how we grieve, work, socialize, shop, parent, teach (hello virtual learning), and connect to the world around us.

Constantly adjusting and changing how we live can take a toll on us. Starting over with any new beginning (relationship, work status, significant life transition, etc.) takes a great deal of courage, patience, and faith. Here are a few tips to support you in your process of new beginnings.

1. Acknowledge that something is ending.

Sometimes we'd rather quickly jump to the new beginning without acknowledging to ourselves and others that an ending has occurred. Our quick jump may look like diving into work, busying yourself with new projects, and ignoring your feelings.

It would be best if you took the time to honor your feelings about what has ended and created space to acknowledge what once was so that you can truly move forward. Don't rush your process. It's a sure-fire way to get stuck.

2. Honor and give thanks for the lessons learned.

Look for the lessons learned as you acknowledge your feelings about the ending and move into your new beginning. What strengths are you now aware of as you navigate your transition? What life lessons can you use to navigate life moving forward? You are a mighty Phoenix rising from the ashes of what once appeared to be defeat. Honor yourself for having the courage to grow and persevere. Give thanks for your strength to move forward during trying times.

3. Visualize and celebrate your new path forward.

Spend time thinking about and planning for your new beginning. See it in your mind's eye when you meditate. Feel the joy and excitement your fresh start will bring. Have a private dance party to celebrate the goodness in your life right now and the good to come. You deserve a powerful comeback story.

You Got This!!!

Sending love and light as you navigate your new beginning!
